This post is the fourth in a series that encourages all Christians to think about how they would answer questions pertinent to the Christian faith if asked. In this series, I will post questions from an actual pastoral candidate questionnaire that I received from a Southern Baptist Church and give my answers. Is there any part of the 2000 version of the Baptist Faith & Message that you do not support? If so, please explain? (If you’ve never read the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, here is a link).
No.
This was a short answer but maybe the most important one in the whole questionnaire. I believe that there are, unfortunately, many people in my convention who’ve never read the Baptist Message 2000 and would have disagreements with what it says if they did. What disturbs me further is that there are some who claim that this confession of faith is specific enough. I hope you’ve read it over and considered it thoroughly.
